We can be just like the French

without comments

What follows is a classic example of how right-thinking (meaning left-thinking) elites view us bitter, clingy slobs just trying to get from point A to point B without breaking the bank. And without having to ride in flimsy econoboxes.

From the Washington Post’s auto columnist, Warren Brown, this charming introduction:

Here’s hoping for gasoline at $5 a gallon. May it stay at that level, or higher.

That is the only way the current necessary changes occurring in the North American automobile market will continue.

Stopped reading at this point. This idiot hasn’t got anything to say that I would consider remotely credible. Unless, of course, he would have, as his very next sentence, “just kidding, folks.”

But he didn’t. We rubes just don’t understand what’s good for us. We should be like those wonderful folks in France, who pay upwards of $8 a gallon. I’ve got nothing against the French; just wouldn’t want to have to live like they do.

I’m an American. Warren Brown appears to want to move to France. Bye, bye, Warren. Don’t let the door slam you in the butt on your way out.
