A wolf in sheep’s clothing
Will the real Obama please stand? Interesting piece by Michael Goodwin by that title, up at the Daily News. Goodwin describes himself as a “centrist Democrat and a hawk on security,” and while he finds the new post-primary Obama an improvement, he’s not convinced.
From the article, the flip-floppiness that is Obama:
On defining issues – security wiretapping, gun control, campaign finance, Iran and Iraq – he has done partial or full about-faces.In his rush to appeal to moderate voters, Obama has demolished his narrative. Political expediency is ordinary, and by embracing it, he has proven himself an eloquent but ordinary politician.
Sounds reasonable, except it requires some suspension of disbelief in what Obama did and who he hung around with for twenty years before beating the liberal Hillary Clinton in the primary.
People don’t put on completely new personas overnight as Obama appears to have done. No, indeed. Obama remains a hard-left “organizer” who learned his trade from fellow-traveler Saul Alinsky and then had a lovely time for two decades immersing himself in the white-hating, America-hating “church” of Jeremiah Wright.
No, Michael Goodwin. Obama is not an “ordinary” politico. He’s a wolf, now in sheep’s clothing.
