Two numbers for consideration: 3.6 trillion; 100 million. The first is the Obamatons’ budget estimate for fiscal year 2010. The second is the Great One’s flim-flam to show what he is going to do about reducing the deficit that his budget will cause.
Let’s focus for a moment on the 100 million dollars. That’s a lot of cabbage; it would keep me in cocktail onions for a few months. And a few other things, besides. Why 100 million? That’s the amount Obama will “order” his cabinet, according to the cheerleading WaPo,
to identify a combined $100 million in budget cuts over the next 90 days, according to a senior administration official.
Although the budget cuts would amount to a minuscule portion of federal spending [you don’t say], they are intended to signal the president’s determination to cut spending and reform government, the official said.
As I wrote, the WaPo is one of the mainstream media’s lead cheerleaders for Obama. Minus the perky costume, of course. The opinion writer posing as a reporter wrote that this reduction is a “signal” of the “president’s determination to cut spending.”
This is plain and utter nonsense. The president is determined to force his leftist agenda on health care, education, energy, taxes, and God knows what else. Regardless of costs; regardless of the state of our economy. Perfect example? Forcing Detroit to build “green” cars that few Americans want; punishing Detroit for building F-150s and Silverados that Americans actually do want. But all the while continuing to throw billions their way (just continuing the Bush administration’s misguided use of tax money, but this time with an agenda of nationalizing the auto manufacturers).
So this bit of nonsense by the Rookie is being swallowed by the Post, as it will be by a host of other eager sycophants. Why, Obama wants to reduce spending. And look, he’s given orders to his cabinet to reduce the federal budge by a whopping…stand by, my calculator isn’t used to dealing in such small numbers…2.8 thousandths of one percent.
Wow. This would not be important, except for the small fact that Obama clearly intends to push his agenda, regardless of costs. Regardless of inflation that is sure to follow when government soaks up close to 20 per cent of GDP. You know we’re dealing with a socialist spender who is out of control when even the Euros tell him, “whoa, dude — we don’t have that kind of money to throw at this recession.”
