Dear Leader Obama:
“buying [health] insurance on your own costs you three times as much as the coverage you get from your employer.”
The Congressional Budget Office
expects premiums for employer-sponsored coverage to cost about $5,000 for singles and $13,000 for families this year on average. “Premiums for policies purchased in the individual market,” adds CBO, “are much lower, about one-third lower for single coverage and half that level for family policies.”
Obama did not exaggerate. What he said is flat-out wrong. He did one of two things: he knew the truth (according to CBO, which is controlled by Democrats) and chose to lie. Or, he has really crappy staff who can’t find the truth.
Perhaps all the czars are fighting over who gets which office in the West Wing and are just too busy to check facts?
