Don’t think Nancy meant it

When the Dems took over Congress after the 2006 election, Nancy Pelosi proclaimed she was going to “drain the swamp” and have “the most ethical Congress ever.” That was when there were high-profile cases of entrenched Republican congressmen acting badly. Crookedly; stupidly. Choose your adverb, those Republicans were cockroaches.

Fast forward to 2010, and, lo, there are more Democrat crooks on the hot seat than Republicans. But does any sane person think that Botox Nance is going to “drain the swamp,” now that the swamp rats are members of an approved minority?

In an extraordinary public statement, all five Republican members of the House ethics committee are calling on Democrats to schedule ethics trials for Reps. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) and Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) before the November elections.

I’m not holding my breath. Rangel and Waters are two crooks who ought to be in jail, not dispensing the people’s monies like drunk crack whores.

Well, at least Jolly Cholly Rangel has a pleasing personality. Personally, I’d prefer it if he resigned and retained some dignity. Waters, on the other hand, comes across as being mean as a snake. Let the subpoenas role…
