Strange way, indeed

The Sage of Wilmington, formerly of Scranton, PA (town motto: we’re Wilkes-Barre but with more glitz!), has been quoted about Obama in an interview with GQ thusly:

I think what it is, is he’s so brilliant. He is an intellectual. And the president, in a strange way, has more faith in the American people than about anybody I know.

Joe must have forgotten his meds that morning. That, or Joe does not know many people.

With Obama, the veneer that he is a cool, dispassionate intellectual has worn very thin in spots. As for Obama having “more faith in the American people,” what kind of faith does this quotation from April 2008 represent?

And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

Obama has also, much more recently, reminded us that we simply don’t get him and his greatness. Why? Oh no, it couldn’t possibly be that Obama was pushing policies that we don’t want or need, policies that will bankrupt the nation. Just after this month’s drubbing at the polls, Obama tells us that he simply needs to work on his communication skills:

“Making an argument that people can understand,” Mr. Obama continued, “I think that we haven’t always been successful at that. And I take personal responsibility for that. And it’s something that I’ve got to examine carefully … as I go forward.”

Keep on going “forward,” Barry. May I suggest that America now knows what and who you are: someone with a vast ego and sense of entitlement; someone who really does not like or understand us. Worse, someone with a far-left mindset and agenda.

Finally, is it possible, just remotely possible, that our rejection of your leftist agenda has nothing whatsoever to do with your communication skills? Dozens of eloquent speeches on ObamaCare before it was rammed down our throats did nothing to improve its popularity. That wasn’t the fault of your speechifying, Obama: that was the fault of an atrocious assault on our liberty and our pocketbooks.

One Term Barack.
