No chance?

Whenever one of Obama’s czars makes a positive, definitive statement, we should all do two things: check to make sure our wallets haven’t been lifted, and, most importantly, don’t believe a single word.

The latest attempt to centralize everything in America is reported on here. Some details from Fox News:

President Obama is putting plans in motion to give the Commerce Department authority to create an Internet ID for all Americans, a White House official told

White House Cybersecurity Coordinator Howard Schmidt told the website it is “the absolute perfect spot in the U.S. government” to centralize efforts toward creating an “identity ecosystem” for the Internet.

I love that “absolute perfect spot in the U.S. government” to keep book on each and every one of us.

This totalitarian impulse runs strong among certain types of folks. Especially among the un-elected, un-confirmed “czars” in the leftist Obama administration. Oh, but we need not worry. After all, from Fox again, “Schmidt stresses that anonymity will remain on the Internet, saying there’s no chance that ‘a centralized database will emerge.'”

Got that? No chance. Can you spell “WikiLeaks,” Mr. Schmidt? This proposal is an affront to liberty. What is missing are two things: what is the Constitutional authority for this, and, what, exactly, is the need?
