In his eight-billionth speech today, Obama gave us this tasty morsel at 11:36:
“I will not accept a deal…in which I am allowed to keep hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional income that I don’t need.”
Two reactions. First, if this guy, who has made an outdoor sewer of the American economy, has “hundreds of thousands of dollars” that he doesn’t need, I’m glad to accept contributions.
Second, this is unmitigated arrogance. Let’s assume, for argument’s sake, that, thanks to the millions of taxpayer dollars spent to keep Obama wined and dined and ferried on the largest corporate jet ever, that he really does not need that much of his salary.
Fine; send it to the IRS to help reduce the deficit. But, really, who the hell is Obama to, in essence, tell everyone who actually earns his pay that they should not keep all that they earn? Obama reflects the all-too-common mindset of the Left: the government owns us and all of our income; the government decides how much money we need.
Hmm, sounds vaguely familiar, doesn’t it? From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs…
