Free lunch

As reported by almost everyone yesterday, Obama gave another of his teleprompter-enabled speeches in which he blames the Bush administration for the current economic problems. Except in this particular speech, as reported by James Taranto in Best of the Web,

When Mitt Romney and other Republicans carp about the dismal economy without mentioning that Mr. Obama inherited a $1 trillion deficit from his Republican predecessor, “it’s like somebody goes to a restaurant, orders a big steak dinner, martini, all that stuff,” Mr. Obama said, winding up to his punch line as his audience tittered. “And then, just as you’re sitting down, they leave, and accuse you of running up the tab!”

Turns out that liberals like Obama are just too important to pay their own tabs. The Numinous One dined at a Capitol Hill eatery and, according to this account, simply ate and left.

Bill? We don’t got to pay no stinkin’ bill! Don’t you know who I am?

Well, of the course the fawning mainstream media reports that “White House Forgets to Pay Father’s Day Lunch Tab.” Just as they have forgotten that three and a half years into the job, Obama must bear the burden of responsibility.

If he is re-elected after whining and blaming everyone else for all bad things, it will demonstrate that far too many Americans lack the common sense they ought to have when voting.

  1. Sure the Republicans may have left Obama a big bill, but say when they got to the car they remembered that they had to pay it, and in the five minutes it took to walk to the car and back, the bill had increased by 6.5 trillion dollars.
