PJ Media has a story about Comcast censoring ads that run on cable. The offending items? From PJM:

The cable giant is demanding that he truncate “United Loan and Firearm” [the name of the store buying the ads] to remove the reference to guns, and that he remove any imagery of guns from his ad. If he does not comply, his ad will not run.

That Comcast would do this is not the surprise it should be. I recently Googled “Colt 1911 .45 ACP” and got all sorts of results, none of which would lead to a store or online entity that would sell an actual firearm.

I tried searches for other firearms, with the same sort of results. Looks like Google shopping is censoring some searches, right here in what used to be called the United States of America.

At least there is Bing, which does produce sources for firearms. They, at least for the time being, don’t censor my searches.

This rather lowers my opinion of Google and its internet empire. But, what else should we expect from people who seem to have no difficulty in doing what it takes to fit in with the Chinese communist dictators?
