Of course they weren’t

Partisan motives, that is. Another rock has been moved in Obambi’s garden of delights, and the worms and bugs are scurrying away from the light.

This isn’t Benghazi, which should result in Obama’s impeachment, but will not for the simple reason that most voters simply don’t care about Islamic terrorism or the failures of Obama to deal with it. No, this is something that might actually get the low-information (read: stupid) voters interested: the IRS has been targeting groups solely because of those groups political views.

This is totalitarian state mode, people. At best, this is Nixonian, when Tricky Dick had the IRS target his perceived enemies. Even the usually compliant WaPo has this story on its front page: IRS admits targeting conservatives for tax scrutiny in 2012 election.

Do tell. In response to the facts presented that the IRS did target tea party and other conservative groups, one IRS functionary had this to say:

Lois G. Lerner, the IRS official who oversees tax-exempt groups, said the “absolutely inappropriate” actions by “front-line people” were not driven by partisan motives.

Good to know that those “front-line people” were partisan but did not have “partisan motives.” And, pity poor Jay Carney, Obambi’s mouthpiece, for having to make a pie out of feces. The best he could muster was, again there’s that innocuous word, “inappropriate.”

Bullshit. This was political; this was abuse of power. This was attacking citizens based on their politics. This was very much a blow against liberty. There should be Hell to pay, and it should be Obama who answers for it. None of this crap that the IRS is an “independent” agency. Whose leaders are appointed by who, exactly?

Too bad that Obama can not be impeached for this. But perhaps he can be hobbled further; perhaps Republicans can win back the Senate in 2014 and further put the brakes on our Obama-inspired descent into a totalitarian state.
